KARACHI: Former international cueist Shahram Changezi will make his debut at US Open 9-balls Pool Championship being held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, from Sept 13-18.

He will fly to the US on Thursday.

As many as 256 players, including world pro champion Judd Trump, will make their appearance in the competition.

Shahram has won bronze medals at the 2010 Asian Games Snooker Team Event in China, 2015 Asian Team Snooker Championship in Iran and 2015 World Team Snooker Championship at home.

Besides, he finished runner-up at All Arab 9-balls Pool Championship in Kuwait and made it to the quarters at US Open Chinese 8-balls Pool Championship.

“I’m practicing hard and will try to achieve honours in the coming event,” the Islamabad-based Shahram who is Assistant Director Sports in NUST University told Dawn on Tuesday.
