CHITRAL: The Swat Circuit Bench of Peshawar High Court has ordered the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to make payment of the salaries of 20 months to 108 Class-IV employees of health department who had been appointed in Chitral in December 2019, but their salaries were stopped due to the irregularities in the recruitment process.
An official of health department told Dawn that soon after appointment of the employees in different hospitals of both Lower and Upper Chitral, an inquiry was initiated on the demand of local MPA Maulana Hedayatur Rahman who alleged gross violation of rules and sought their cancellation.
He said the high-level inquiry established violation of rules and recommended cancellation of the appointment orders of those who had started performing duties. Then district health officer Dr Mujeeb was also transferred from Chitral.
He said that the court has quashed the inquiry report and ordered the government to pay them the salaries of last 20 months and allow the employees to work in their stations.
