Rahim Yar Khan temple attack case: 11 accused on judicial remand

BAHAWALPUR: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Nasir Ahmed has sent 11 people to the new central jail on judicial remand in the Bhong temple attack case.

Sources said 12 accused were produced by the Rahim Yar Khan police in the ATC which sent 11 on judicial remand and discharged one person.

Police also submitted their challan in the ATC which has already started the trial of the 106 accused.

DRUG TRAFFICKER: The Saddar police claim to have arrested a drug trafficker with 3.5 kilogram heroin.

Police said Muhammad Amin was part of a gang and they had also seized the car used in shifting of narcotic.

ACCIDENT: A man died while three other people suffered injuries in a collision between a van and three motorcycle-rickshaws at 148-Murad village on Hasilpur Road, about 80 kilometres from here, on Tuesday.

Yaseen, 45, was killed while Ali Raza, 14, Irshad Bibi and Asma Bibi, 22, suffered injuries.

VACCINATION: More than 1.2 million people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 across the district, says Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathiya.

The DC told Dawn that 1,274,000 had been vaccinated at the 24 vaccination centres set up by the district health department. He lauded the doctors and paramedical staff for performing their duties at these vaccination centres. He said abundant vaccination was available and people should go for it without delay.

He expressed the hope that the target of vaccinating more than 1.8 million people in the district would be achieved in October.
