RAWALPINDI: Three patients lost their lives and another 115 contracted Covid-19 in the district during the last 24 hours as the positivity ratio touched 5.3pc.

As many as 209 people were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus.

A total of 2,148 samples were collected out of which results of 115 patients came back positive.

According to data, Mian Sajjid Saleem, 58, a resident of Siham, Peshawar Road, was brought to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology on Sept 1 where he died on Tuesday. Similarly, Shamimul Hassan, 65, was shifted to Bilal Hospital on Sept 13 where he breathed his last while Zaheer Hussain, 30, was shifted to Polyclinic from Wah Cantonment on Sept 13 where he died on Tuesday.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 1,773 active patients out of whom 184 are in hospitals and the remaining home isolated.

Positivity rate remains 5.9pc in Islamabad, 5.3pc in Rawalpindi

According to the breakdown, 28 patients arrived from cantonment areas, 32 from Potohar Town and 12 from Rawal Town. A total of two patients came from Gujar Khan, 10 from Kallar Syedan, eight patients arrived from Taxila, seven from Kahuta, two patients each came from Kotli Sattian and Murree, three patients each came from Chakwal and Azad Jammu and Kashmir while two patients arrived from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. One patient each came from Islamabad, Attock, Multan and Toba Tek Singh.

The patients were admitted to different hospitals of Rawalpindi city, with 16 being treated in Holy Family Hospital, 61 were admitted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 62 to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, five to District Headquarters Hospital, 27 to Fauji Foundation Hospital, six patients were under treatment in Bilal Hospital, five at Hearts International Hospital, one patient each at Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Hospital and Attock Hospital, Rawalpindi.

There are 12 patients on ventilator, 99 on oxygen and 73 are stable.

Islamabad

As many as 262 cases emerged in the capital with a positivity rate of 5.9pc on Tuesday.

In the last 24 hours, 4,382 tests were conducted out of which 137 males and 125 females tested positive.

Officials said 50 cases were reported in the age group of 20-29, 45 in 30-39, 44 in 40-49, 36 in 50-59, 33 in 10-19, 22 in 0-9, 18 in 60-69, 12 in 70-79 and two in 80 and above.

Likewise, 15 cases were reported from Loi Bher, 14 from I-9, 12 from G-6, 11 each from Bhara Kahu, Tarlai, 10 each from G-9, 1-8, nine from Alipur, seven each from G-11, F-11, six each from F-8, Kurri, five each from G-7, Rawat, F-6, four each from G-8, G-13, G-5, G-15, three each from I-10, E-11, Khanna, Sohan, Koral, Rawat, Model Town, two each from G-10, Kirpa, H-9, and one each from Chak Shahzad, F-7, Jhangi Syedan, H-8, Phulgran, Saidpur and Shah Allahdita.There are 3,444 active cases in the capital. So far, 103,125 residents of the capital have contracted the virus and 98,789 of them have recovered. However, 892 patients residing in the capital died of the virus.

They said 260 deaths were reported in the age group of 60-69 years followed by 224 in 70-79, 158 in 50-59, 119 in 80-89, 66 in 40-49, 32 in 30-39, 24 in 90 and above, six in 20-29, two in 0-9 and one in 10-19.

So far, 21,895 cases have been reported in 30-39 age group, 19,369 in 20-29, 15,487 in 40-49, 12,259 in 50-59, 11,532 in 0-9, 9,167 in 10-19, 8,076 in 60-69, 3,553 in 70-79 and 1,277 in 80 and above.
