SWABI: The University of Swabi on Tuesday agreed to the demand of pharmacy department students to hold annual examinations online.

The announcement was made after talks between the varsity’s management and student leaders here.

A week ago, the students had held a protest demonstration against the varsity decision to hold on-campus examinations.

The students had also blocked the Swabi-Jehangira Road on Monday, demanding that since their classes were held online the examinations should also be held online.

A notification issued by the registrar office said the varsity had allowed holding of pharmacy-D programme examinations for annual 2021 online.

It asked the controller of examinations to chalk out a mechanism to ensure transparency of the examinations.
