LAHORE: Pakistan lost 3-0 to heavyweights Iran in their final Pool ‘B’ match at the Asian Volleyball Championships in Chiba, Japan, on Tuesday.

Saber Kazemi score a match-high 17 points as Iran won 25-20, 25-19, 25-15 to complete the first pool stage with 100 percent record.

Having won their opening two matches, Pakistan were already assured of a berth in the second pool stage where they will again face Iran. The other two teams in the pool are South Korea and Chinese Taipei. The top two teams from the pool will advance to the semis.

The other pool of the second stage features top-ranked Japan, Australia, China and Qatar.
