The good effects of reading books

T his is with reference to the story, “The good effects of reading books” by Adeeba Khan (YW, August 28). It was a remarkable story on the importance of reading books. Indeed, the habit of reading books leaves a positive impact on one’s life.

As books are loaded with knowledge of various things, so by reading books, one can become a good reader as well as writer. We should adopt the habit of reading books daily and also urge the youngsters in our family to read books that interests them.

Worst water calamities

This is regarding the cover article “Worst water calamities” compiled by Faraz Ahmed (YW, August 28). The compilation was outstanding and I was literally dumbstruck to read how humans have been exploiting nature and marine life.

Millions of marine animals have died and the atmosphere has also become immensely polluted. Had the humans used the resources under the safety guidelines; there would not have been global warming. It is high time that we humans should take responsibility for our wrongdoings and work to protect the environment as well as Mother Earth.

Prisoners of the smartphone

This is regarding the cover article “Prisoners of the smartphone” by Marium Ahmed (YW, September 4). The article was worth reading, as it had various lessons in it for kids.

No doubt, the use of smartphone is full of pros and cons. The excess use of this gadget leads to a number of problems, for instance, one’s eyesight is affected due to excess and improper use of a smartphone.

It is a request to the adults to keep an eye on the activities of youngsters and don’t allow them to use smartphone excessively.

The article “Prisoners of the smartphone” by Marium Ahmad was a much-needed article because the topic needs a lot of attention from everyone.

Even though everyone is of the same point of view regarding the misuse of mobile phones, it hasn’t stopped anyone from limiting the use of this gadget.

I agree with all the points and want the Young World to highlight more such issues in the future as well, so that kids can bring positive changes in their routine.
