QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has said that the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) will take a collective decision to resolve issues pertaining to the provincial government.
Talking to the media on the assembly premises here on Tuesday, he said: “Whatever decision will be taken it would be made by the BAP.”
Mr Bizenjo said that it was the responsibility of the party leadership, including Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, to play their role in “saving the party”.
The speaker, who is part of the angry group of lawmakers within the BAP that has emerged after a no-trust motion was filed against the CM, said he did not want to talk anymore about the situation arising out of the motion.
Refusing to reply to questions put by the journalists and, he said: “I am here to meet the assembly employees whose long-standing issues have been resolved. It is more important for me to win the hearts of the people.”
The employees of the Balochistan Assembly, on the arrival of the speaker, warmly welcomed him and presented him a traditional turban.
Mr Bizenjo said that many issues of the employees of the assembly had been pending for the last many years. “It is important to resolve issues of the people and get space in their hearts and share happiness with them,” he said.
He said that it was his responsibility to take care of the employees who worked day and night.
President of the Balochistan Assembly Staff Association Zafar Rind said that Speaker Bizenjo had always solved the problems of the employees.
“Our long standing demand for promotion of the employees of the assembly has been accepted. Forty officers of the assembly have been given vehicles. It is hoped that other problems will also be solved in the future,” Mr Rind said.
