Book lovers find out about various links to free e-books, bookshops, book releases, references, etc. But most of the time these people are interested in genres ranging from fiction to non-fiction, science, horror, drama, comedy, etc.

However, most of the times, people in search of technology-related books are left out from most of the resources available to other bookworms. This is where, www.freetechbooks.com, — a site with free online computer science, engineering and programming books, textbooks and lecture notes, all of which are legally and freely available.

Isn’t it incredible? Of course, it is. So all tech lovers in search of a good tech, engineering or programming book, this site solves your problem. The books listed on this site are all freely available, as they are hosted on websites that belong to the authors or the publishers.

Technically, the website does not host the books. It simply provides links to the books in PDF or HTML format available at the authors’ or the publishers’ websites. Therefore, it totally depends on the authors and publishers part to provide the visitor at their own terms and conditions in the forms of free/open licenses, public domain or other specific ones.

One of the good things about the site is that it claims that (a) they do not host pirated books and (b) they do not link to sites that host pirated books and (c) they do not even link to sites that link to sites that host pirated books.

The website is plain and to the point, it does not let you go astray. The simple menu at the top left gives you options to choose from categories like “All books”, “By Category” with sub-categories that include Operating System, Programming Scripting, Miscellaneous, Computer Science Books, etc. other main categories you can choose from are “By Author”, “By Publisher”, and “By License”.

After selecting the category and the book you want to read, you can view it, download it and, with very few exceptions, print the books for your own private use at no charge.

However, as there are many links provided to external websites to read or download a book, they sometime turn out to be dead links. Yet, the site claims to regularly checking for dead links and removing them. The website encourages the visitors share with them via the Discuss comment option on the site.

Expand your library and add a bundle of technology, engineering, computer, computer programming, operating system, scripting books for free at: www.freetechbooks.com
