PESHAWAR: Workers Welfare Board employees on Monday held a demonstration, demanding of the federal government to take action against the relevant officials for not releasing the funds meant for their welfare and education of their children.

They were holding banners and placards inscribed with their demands.

The protesters led by Younus Marwat also shouted slogans against the government.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Marwat said the government should hold the relevant officials accountable for withholding funds meant for welfare of workers and education of their children. He said huge funds were released for welfare of the employees and their families, but some elements were not releasing them.

Mr Marwat also demanded of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to take notice of the matter. He also called for ensuring provision of transportation, school uniform and bags to their children.
