LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday adopted a resolution demanding the provincial government to display Quranic verses and Ahadith pertaining to the finality of prophethood in government offices.

The resolution was moved by provincial minister Ammar Yasir which was unanimously adopted by the house.

It sought that the verses and Ahadith along with their translations declaring Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the last prophet should be displayed at prominent places in government offices and at entrances to districts along highways.

After the adoption of the resolution, Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi directed Law Minister Raja Basharat to talk to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for immediately implementing the recommendation of the house.

Mr Elahi lauded the Sindh Assembly and the chief minister of the province for displaying Quranic verses and Ahadith related to Khatm-i-Nabuwat in the provincial offices.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Assembly also adopted a resolution paying tribute to the services of Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Geelani for the cause of freedom and condemned New Delhi for not allowing his burial as per wishes of the heirs.

It urged the comity of nations to take notice of the anti-humanity actions of India.
