RAWALPINDI: After a day break, the positivity rate of Covid-19 slightly increased on Friday from 1.69pc to 2.9pc in Rawalpindi district and three people died. As many as 99 cases and a death were reported in Islamabad.

On the other hand, the Punjab government issued a notification declaring Friday as weekly off for traders. Now markets would remain open on Sunday, the notification said.

Out of the total 1,411 samples collected in the last 24 hours, 41 tested positive for Covid-19 in the district. During the last 24 hours, as many as 50 people discharged from the hospitals.

Zeenat Bibi, 69, resident of Kallar Syedan, was brought to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) on Sept 30 where she died on Friday.

Tazeem Akhter, 50, from Airport Road, was shifted to RIU on Sept 30 where she died on Friday.

Naseem Kosar, 65, resident of Chaklala Scheme-II Rehmatabad, was also admitted to RIU on Sept 30 where she died on Friday.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 600 active patients. As many as 84 patients are in the hospitals and 516 patients are home isolated.

Out of 41 fresh patients 11 arrived from Cantonment areas, seven each from city areas and Potohar Town, three patients each from Gujar Khan and Taxila, eight patients from Kallar Syedan, one from Murree and one patient from Islamabad.

As many as 84 patients of Covid-19 are in the city hospitals including four patients in Holy Family Hospital, 38 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 27 in Rawalpindi institute of Urology, 14 patients in Fauji Foundation Hospital and one patient at Bilal Hospital.

There are five patients on ventilator in Rawalpindi, 26 are on Oxygen and 53 are stable.

Islamabad

Officials of the capital administration said the death was reported in the age group of 80-89. The deceased was a man and a resident of Khanna, they added.

During the last 24 hours 4640 tests were conducted in the capital which detected the virus in 56 men and 43 women and the positivity rate was 2.1pc.

They said 17 cases were reported in the age group of 50-59, followed by 16 in 30-39, 15 in 20-29, 13 in 40-49, 11 in 10-19, seven in 0-9, and five each in 60-69 and 60-79.

The official said five cases each were reported from Rawat, G-7 and Rawal Town, four each from G-6, I-9, and F-10, three each from Tarlai, G-10, G-9, F-11 and F-8, two each from G-11, I-10, G-8, G-13, Sohan, Alipur, Kurri, F-5 and B-17 and one each from Bharakahu, I-8, E-11, F-6, G-5, G-15, Kirpa and Phulgran.
