In an age where unpredictability is the new constant, what can you, the young generation, do now to shape the future? Unpredictability is the measure which is not present only in this age, but was also there in past. If you go back to the past and tell someone that there will be a mode of transport that could fly in air (plane) and people will sit in it and travel across the world, they wouldn’t believe it. Similarly, if today someone tells you that there will be a machine which will travel in time and take people in their past and future, you may not believe. But this could happen — since the future is unpredictable in every age. No one knows what will happen next. However, our actions today shape our future.

No one knows what will happen next, but one thing is sure — our actions today will shape our future

The purpose of my writing is to persuade the young generation to be considerate about their actions in the present. That’s because today’s youth is responsible for shaping not only their future, but the future of our nation and the world at large. For instance, there are growing tensions between superpowers and undeveloped countries. The superpowers are using all their might to take away precious resources from undeveloped countries, leaving them with little, while countries which are still in their development phase, bear the entire burden, just like us. A huge tax to pay the country’s debts is one of the examples of such burdens.

There are chances that superpowers would also treat Pakistan selfishly, but this is still unpredictable. So the generation of today needs to think about ways to maintain diplomatic relations with superpowers and also to have other means to maintain the stability of the country.

Apart from that, we all know that technology is ever growing. In the future, everything would get automatic, which would surely lead to a smaller workforce, resulting in more unemployment. We should, therefore. Be focused upon an entrepreneurial mindset. We should work upon unleashing our creative side and then turning creative ideas of ours into a business so that we would not be worried about unemployment in the future.

We can thus take motivation by looking at the dynamic leaders of the world today, such as Bill Gates who started from a small warehouse outside his house and has now turned his idea into a massive company like Microsoft Corporation.

One thing which should always be kept in mind is the fact that we should not look down upon any profession, because whatever the business in which we are working, we are still going to be the CEO of that particular business.

With sheer hard work and diligence, we can turn a small start-up into the next top company of tomorrow. Concluding this, in order to compete against a constant of unpredictability, we should bring an element of persistence in ourselves, which can definitely help shape our future in the best possible way.
