LAHORE: A couple was arrested for torturing two minors working in their house in Green Town on Sunday.

Police said 14-year-old Mohsin and his 12-year-old sister were working as maids in the house of Shahid Junaid in the Military Accounts Society in the Sattukatla area.

Victim’s uncle Ahmad lodged a complaint that his nephew and niece were subjected to torture by their employer Junaid and his wife Iqra.

He said the couple burned the body of his nephew and niece with hot iron forserving them food late. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sohail Chaudhry took notice of the incident and directed action against the suspects.

Green Town police registered a case under section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code and arrested the couple.

Mr Chaudhry said that he had ordered action after the video of the children’s plight surfaced.

He said the children were recovered from the house of their employers and were taken to hospital for medical examination.

He said they would also add other sections in the case after the medical examination and the children would be handed over to the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau for rehabilitation and counseling.
