KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced an online real-time system for documentation of sales that connects the computerised sales system of big retailers to FBR’s system through internet.

According to Chief Commissioner Medium Taxpayers Office Abdul Hameed Memon, the retailers do not need to buy a new machine to get hooked with this system. Instead, a downloadable app from FBR’s website can be added to existing machines.

“Any sale by the retailer generates a barcode/QR code automatically, which is printable. Further, this system helps in automatic preparation of sales tax returns and reduces retailers’ expenditures,” he added.

On the other hand, customers can verify their sales tax payment through the Tax Asaan App ensuring that the sale has been reported to FBR.
