LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two suspects for their alleged involvement in uploading child pornographic material on social media.

“During online web crawling, it transpired that the suspects – Sultan and Ameen – are uploading highly objectionable and sexually explicit child pornography [pictures and videos] of Pakistanis and others through their accounts on some website,” FIA Faisalabad region Assistant Director Rizwan Arshad told Dawn on Wednesday.

He said the FIA tracked down Sultan for his alleged links with some suspects in Sindh from whom he would purchase child pornographic material and upload it on a Russian website (Vk.com) to attract buyers.

On the information provided by Interpol, he said, the FIA arrested Amin from Faisalabad for allegedly uploading and sharing child pornography and other porn material excessively on various social media platforms.

Sultan has been booked under FIR No 186/2021 and Amin under FIR No 183/2021 under sections 20, 21, 22, 24 PECA-2016.

Mr Arshad said he would write to the FIA’s Sindh chapter to track down the suspects involved in selling child pornographic material to Sultan.
