ISLAMABAD: Five people succumbed to Covid-19 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi districts whereas 63 were diagnosed with the disease on Tuesday. The positivity ratio in the capital was 1.4pc.

Officials of the capital administration said a male patient (70-79), resident of F-6, passed away. During the last 24 hours, 3351 tests were conducted in the capital, they said.

Furthermore, four people lost their lives to Covid-19 in Rawalpindi district while the positivity ratio was 1.5pc. The deceased were identified as Tahira Yasmeen, 42, resident of Chakri Chowk, Faridan Begum, 60, resident of city area, Naseer Begum, 65, of Gujar Khan and Mohammad Hameed, 86, resident of Sadiqabad.

As many as 36 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours. A total of 944 samples were collected out of which 929 were declared negative.

There are currently 345 active patients in the district. As many as 51 are in hospitals including 27 who arrived from other districts and 294 patients are home isolated.

Five patients arrived from cantonment areas, one from city areas and three from Potohar Town.

Three patients arrived from Gujar Khan and one patient each from Kahuta and Taxila.

Two patients were admitted in Holy Family Hospital, 19 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 23 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) and seven patients in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH).

There are two patients on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 21 are on oxygen support and 28 are stable.
