ISLAMABAD: Three more Coivd-19 patients succumbed to the virus in Rawalpindi and Islamabad as 63 new cases surfaced in the two districts on Wednesday.

Officials of the capital administration said death of a man and a woman was reported in the age group of 80-89 and 70-79 respectively. The deceased were the residents of G-7 and F-10, they added. The Covid-19 death toll in capital touched 935 mark, the officials said.

During the last 24 hours 4,134 tests were conducted in capital which detected the virus 40 people and the positivity was 0.96pc.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 claimed a life in Rawalpindi district while 23 people tested positive for the deadly virus and 51 people discharged from the hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours.

As per data shared by District Health Authority, the positivity ratio of Covid-19 cases in the district was 1.49pc.

Total 1,542 samples collected and 23 cases were positive while 1519 samples were declared negative.

Azmat Bibi, 50, resident of Murree, was brought to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on October 12 where she died on Wednesday.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 304 active patients. As many as 41 patients are in the hospitals including 16 patients from other districts and 263 patients are home isolated.

Mostly patients of Covid-19 were brought from the garrison city as five patients arrived from cantonment areas, two patients from Potohar Town and seven from Rawal Town.
