KARACHI: A month long national camp in preparation for next month’s Junior World Cup commenced at the Abdul Sattar Edhi Stadium on Friday.

“Out of 29 probables invited by the Pakistan Hockey Federation in the camp, only nine reported on the opening day,” head coach Danish Kaleem told Dawn.

He said the remaining players who are coming from upcountry are expected to join either by Friday night or Saturday.

According to Danish, the players will go through physical drill in the morning and match practice in the afternoon to hone their skills.

India will play host to the Junior World Cup at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from Nov 24 to Dec 5.
