SWABI: A man shot dead his wife and two daughters allegedly for honour in Razaar tehsil here on Sunday, the police said.

The officials of the Kalu Khan police station quoted a complainant as saying that he along with his mother and two sisters was sitting inside their house when his father along with a son-in-law came there and started firing. He said his mother and two sisters died on the spot.

The complainant said his father was annoyed after his mother and one of the sisters had abducted a newborn baby boy from Mardan Medical Complex, which was later recovered by the police. He said his mother and the sister were released a week ago after staying in jail for 35 days.

The bodies were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Razaar, for autopsy.

The police registered an FIR against the two accused.

SHO Fayyaz Khan said the police were raiding different areas to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, members of a jirga on Sunday made the staff of the Category-C Hospital Yar Hussain to resume duties after assuring them of providing security.

The doctors had boycotted the duties and refused to attend the OPD after an attendant of a patient had slapped an employee during an argument some three days ago.

After the assurance of security from the jirga, the doctors resumed their duty much to the relief of patients.
