NORTH WAZIRISTAN: A security man was martyred and two others sustained injuries when terrorists attacked a check-post in North Waziristan tribal district late on Sunday night.

Confirming the incident, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the terrorists had attacked the check-post in the Spinwam area. The troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, it added.

During the intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Saifullah, 25, a resident of Karak, embraced martyrdom. Two other security personnel, identified as Sepoy Najeeb and Sepoy Adil, were injured. They were taken to a hospital in the area.

The security forces cordoned off the area soon after the attack and launched a search operation to track down the perpetrators, the ISPR said.
