GUJAR KHAN: Punjab Minister for Higher Education Department Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz on Friday said Planning and Development Department of Punjab had approved Rs1.31 billion for the upgradation of the city campus of University of Chakwal (UoC).

The funds would be released in short time and would be utilized for the development of university infrastructure within this financial year, he said.

Establishment of UoC has eased the students especially females of the district Chakwal to get quality higher education in their area which was not available earlier, said Mr. Raja Yassir.

He said the funds would be utilised for the construction of academic building, admin block, central library, student service and medical center,  female hostel, two main gates, waiting and parking areas and other essential things.

He further said the funds would also be used for purchasing of a Toyota Hi-ace van, a bus, an ambulance, a tractor trolley, five motorcycles, two cars and a van.
