MULTAN: PML-N MPA from Khanewal Nishat Ahmad Khan Daha, who was leading a ‘rebel’ group of the party to support Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, died on Saturday after a protracted illness. He was 75.

Daha was without issue and has an adopted daughter. He was suffering from liver cancer and went abroad several times for treatment.

He had made it to the Punjab Assembly on the PML-N ticket from PP-206; however he developed differences over the party’s narrative and criticised Nawaz Sharif.

He was thrice elected to the Punjab Assembly. He had formed ‘Daha group’ and remained active on the district political scene for decades.
