ISLAMABAD: A total of 51 new Covid-19 cases surfaced in Islamabad and Rawalpindi districts on Tuesday with the positivity ratio recorded at 1.2pc in the former and 1.1pc in the latter.

Officials of the capital administration said 3,095 tests were conducted in the capital during the last 24 hours, out of which 39 turned out positive. Four cases were reported from Lohi Bher followed by three from F-11, two from D-12 and one each from G-10, G-9, F-6, G-11, F-8, I-10, Tarlai, G-11, E-11, Kurri, Sohan, G-8, I-9, Alipur and Khanna, they said, adding addresses of 15 cases were not known.

There are currently 322 active cases in the capital, officials said, adding 47 are kept in hospitals, of whom 40 are on oxygen support and seven on ventilators whereas the other patients are quarantined in their houses.

The tally of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the capital reached 106,749 since the outbreak. Out of the total number 105,489 recovered and 938 died.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi district 28 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours.

A total of 1,087 samples were collected during the last 24 hours out of which 12 were positive.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 162 active patients. As many as 23 are in hospitals including 13 who arrived from other districts and 139 patients are home isolated. Four patients each arrived from cantonment areas and Potohar Town whereas one patient each came from Kahuta, Gujar Khan and Taxila.

As many as 23 patients are admitted in city hospitals including one admitted in Holy Family Hospital, six in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 13 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) and three patients in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH).

One patient ison a ventilator in Rawalpindi, 11 are on oxygen support and 11 are stable.
