SDO among 3 Lesco men suspended

OKARA, Nov 13: Three Lesco officials, including an SDO, were suspended from service on charges of negligence which allegedly caused deaths of two linemen on Oct 27.

Lesco chief Muhammad Akram Arain suspended Manzoor Hussain, Assistant Manager Construction (SDO) Manga Mandi, along with lineman Allah Ditta and line-superintendent Atif Javid. The alleged negligence of the suspended officials caused death of Muhammad Shafique and Nasir Javid, who were working on electric poles at Basti Ali Sher near Gogera.

An inquiry has also been initiated against the three officials.

Meanwhile, Lesco chief visited the house of the deceased Muhammad Shafique at Chak No 24/GD and offered Fateh. He also visited the house of Nasir in 5/4 L village and condoled with his family on his death.

Shafique is survived by a widow and three children and Nasir is survived by a widow and a daughter.

BOOKED: Four people were booked by police for snatching the keys and documents of the official vehicle of the district drug inspector.
