PESHAWAR: The Senate of Women University Swabi in its meeting on Thursday decided to issue a show cause notice to vice-chancellor Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi in the light of the Governor Inspection Team’s (GIT) report.

Mrs Kazmi is on forced leave since July this year.

A statement issued here said the varsity Senate met with Chancellor Shah Farman in the chair and discussed the GIT report against Dr Kazmi.

The Senate decided that she would be provided every opportunity to defend herself against the allegations, which had been substantiated by the GIT report. The forum also decided to end the ban on permanent hiring in the varsity.

Separately, Governor Shah Farman also chaired a meeting of the board of governors of Edwardes College, Peshawar, which approved the eligibility criteria for the appointment of college’s principal in the light of apex court’s directions.
