ISLAMABAD: In a major reshuffle in top police hierarchy, the federal government on Thursday posted Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) Kaleem Imam, a BS-22 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), as Secretary of the Narcotics Control Division.

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Inam Ghani, a BS-21 officer of the PSP, who was serving as Inspector General of Pakistan Railways Police (PRP), has been transferred and posted as NHMP Inspector General.

Likewise, Faisal Shahkar, a BS-22 officer of the PSP, who was awaiting posting in the Establishment Division, has been posted as PRP Inspector General.

The Establishment Division also notified Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh as in-charge secretary of the Finance Division for a period of one week as the incumbent secretary has proceeded on leave abroad. It said Finance Secretary Yusuf Khan had been granted ex-Pakistan leave from October 28 to November 4.

Through the same notification, the government assigned the additional charge of the post of finance secretary to Planning and Development Secretary Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, for a week.
