QUETTA: Newly-elected president of National Party Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that NP is struggling for the complete restoration of democracy, upholding of the Constitution and holding of free and fair elections in the country.

Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the party’s newly-elected office-bearers here on Monday, he said that holding of polls in the party had proved that it was the responsibility of the leadership and workers to make the party democratic in the true sense and play their role in the political struggle for the rights of people of Balochistan.

The party’s central leader, Senator Tahir Bizenjo, administered oath to the newly-elected central and provincial officer-bearers at the Quetta Press Club.

Dr Malik Baloch and Jan Mohmmad Buledi were elected unopposed as president and secretary general, respectively, of the party.

The polling for election of other offices was held on Sunday. Delegations from all over the country attended the three-day congress of the party to cast their votes.
