KOHAT: A tribesman killed his father, wife and a daughter after he was refused money to buy drugs in Jawaki tribal subdivision of Kohat on Wednesday.
Local police officials said the accused, Liaquat was a drug addict and often demanded money from his wife and father for buying drugs.
They said the drug addict gunned down his father, wife, and a nine-year-old daughter, and fled the scene.
The police recovered the bodies and shifted them to a nearby health facility.
The police have also formed teams for arrest of the accused.
FRAUDSTERS ARRESTED: The officials of the Road Transport Authority arrested a group involved in giving fake tickets of Rs500 to Peshawar-bound vehicles on Kohat-Hangu Road on Wednesday.
Hundreds of fake tickets were recovered from the gang members, RTA secretary Samiullah, who supervised the action, said.
He said the gang members issued and pasted Rs400 to Rs500 tickets on the vehicles and minted money from the drivers.
The accused were shifted to Ustarzai police station, where a case was registered against them.
WORKSHOP: A workshop was organised for journalists from Orakzai district on capacity building in digital media and resolving their financial problems.
A statement issued on Wednesday said a large number of working journalists participated in the five-day workshop on ‘community activity resilience’.
Lectures were given on responsible journalism, awareness about digital media and its potential to resolve their financial issues.
POLICE SACRIFICES: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Mozzam Ja Ansari has said peace and prosperity in the country is because of the sacrifices made by the police, armed forces and the people in the war against terrorism.
Addressing a police darbar at the police lines here on Wednesday, he said thanks to a strong disciplined culture in the police equal opportunities of promotions were being offered to the officers and jawans.
Mr Ansari said the police force was playing a pivotal role in the campaign against polio eradication by providing security to the health teams.
