QUETTA: Minister of State for Frontier Region and chairman of Kashmir Committee Shehryar Afridi has assured the Balochistan government that Islamabad will extend full support for the speedy development of the province.

He expressed these views at a meeting with Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo here on Wednesday.

Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi also attended the meeting.

Mr Afridi said that he had brought a message, as a representative of Prime Minister Imran Khan, that Balochistan government would be provided maximum financial help for fast development of the province.

“PM Imran Khan has a special interest in the speedy development of Balochistan,” he claimed.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bizenjo said that other provinces of the country had strong development infrastructure while Balochistan was still deprived of even the basic infrastructure. He said that Balochistan needed revolutionary changes for its development.

“The eyes of the entire world are on Balochistan’s rich natural resources, but we cannot make the province a strong pillar of the country without more resources,” Mr Bizenjo said, adding that Balochistan needed more funds for building dams, roads and other projects.

The chief minister said that at present “we do not have the required funds even for implementation of the PSDP”.
