Fighting inflation

WE have been facing critical economic predicament due to massive external trade deficit, unbridled stagflation and unbearable high cost of living for the poor and those belonging to the lower middle class.

Paltry amount of subsidy to a large number of vulnerable segments of the population will not mitigate the suffering of the recipients for long. In such a precarious situation, the best solution is that a committee of 10 leading taxpaying industrialists should be formed. It should have three industrialists each from Sindh and Punjab, and two each from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, with one agenda; suggest a path to prosperity.

Creating productive employment opportunities is the key, for an employed person can afford a bread for Rs20, whereas a jobless cannot buy it even for Rs5.
