HYDERABAD: Sindh High Court Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh has said that SHC Hyderabad circuit bench’s jurisdiction has been expanded and now lawyers from Mirpurkhas will also be able to plead their cases in the bench through online link.

The chief justice said at a programme organised by the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) here on Thursday night that the decision had been made to provide facility of online appearance in the court to the lawyers from Mirpurkhas because of vast jurisdiction of this circuit court.

He vowed to provide all basic facilities to legal fraternity so that lawyers could equip themselves with modern technologies and in this regard a digital library would be established at the SHCBA office.

He said that a services tribunal would start functioning in the city from next month and a labour appellate tribunal would also be established soon. “I have a close relationship with Hyderabad. I will prefer to become member of this bar and start legal practice here after my retirement,” said Justice Shaikh.

Meanwhile, the chief justice conducted hearing of 10 cases at the circuit bench and also heard cases online from Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar and Sanghar districts. He also inaugurated auditorium, library, underground parking and bar room for women advocates at the Sindh High Court building.

The circuit bench judges, Justices Iqbal Kalhoro, Adnanul Kareem Memon, Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry and Amjad Ali Sahito, District and Sessions Judge Ghulam Ali Samoo, SHCBA president Ishrat Ali Lohar, District Bar Association president Mohammad Asif Shaikh, former judge of Supreme Court retd Justice Ghulam Rabbani, members of Pakistan Bar Council Yousif Laghari, Riazat Ali Seehar, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Ayaz Tunio, Taj Mohammad Keerio, Sajjad Chandio, Sachal Awan, Karachi Bar president Naeem Qureshi, Larkana Bar president Ashique Hussain Dhamrah, all judges of sessions and civil courts, former judges, presidents and secretaries of different district bars and a large number of lawyers attended the programme.
