RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has declared Rawalpindi Medical University (RMC) as best national university by excelling in National Licensing Examination (NLE).

“The student who topped NLE was Dr Hamza from Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU), which reflects excellent training and teaching at RMU followed by Wah Medical College (WMC).

“Secondly, RMU declared the best center for NLE out of all other universities,” said RMC Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Mohammad Umar.

He said RMU was established in 2017 and accredited by PMC and HEC in 2020.

In this short span of time, RMU became fast growing university and ranked top one by Times Higher Education (THE) – a world recognised ranking agency and now PMC declared it best National University in NLE perspective, he said.

“NLE was introduced first time in Pakistan to standardise the medical education.

“NLE is mandatory in many countries for license to practice medicine after clearing MBBS and one year internship. The format of exam was designed and approved by National Academic Board of PMC,” he said.
