MIRPURKHAS: A team of the anti-corruption police on Tuesday carried out a raid on the office of the agriculture extension department’s deputy director and seized its records.

ACE’s Mirpurkhas circle in-charge Manzoor Memon led the raiding team which accompanied the First Judicial Magistrate Najeebullah Soomro.

Some officers of the department slipped away soon after arrival of the raiding team amid panic among other officers and employees. The ACE intends to conduct an investigation into alleged corruption in the funds released to the department during the year 2020-21.

Mr Memon said the ACE had received complaints with evidence showing alleged involvement of the deputy director, some of his subordinate officers and the accountant of the department.
