LOWER DIR: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said that implementation of Islamic justice system is the only solution to problems facing the country.

Addressing a party meeting in Samarbagh here on Tuesday, he said that JI would contest the upcoming local government elections under its own identity. Criticising the rulers, he said the country’s economy was being run on the dictation of IMF and World Bank.

Mr Haq said that important decisions in the judiciary, education and economy were being taken somewhere else. He said his party had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court, seeking a probe against the 434 Pakistani influential people mentioned in the Panama Leaks and 700 others in Pandora Papers.

He said the JI youth had arranged a protest rally in Islamabad on Nov 28 to remind the prime minister of his pledge of 10 million jobs in the country.

On this occasion, prominent political figure of the area Maulana Azizul Haq announced to rejoin JI along with his supporters. He had left the party before the 2018 general election after his differences with the party’s local leadership.

The meeting was also addressed by JI provincial leader Shabir Ahmad Khan and district chief Izazul Mulk.
