KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday directed the authorities to disburse the pensionary dues of retired employees of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) in two months.

While disposing of a set of petitions filed by retried KDA employees seeking their post-retirement dues, a division bench headed by Justice Irfan Saadat Khan said that the amount of grant, as approved by the chief minister to settle the dues of the retired employees, be taken up on an urgent basis by the chief secretary and finance secretary and after fulfilling the formalities the amount be released to the KDA within a period of one month.

Thereafter, the KDA will release the amount to petitioners/pensioners after completing codal formalities within one month, it added. In the meanwhile, the bench said that the amount already available in the pensionary account of the KDA be released/disbursed to the petitioners within a period of 15 days.
