OKARA: A man allegedly axed his divorced sister to death over suspicion of having loose morals at 38/4L village on Tuesday night.

According to police, Gulzar Bibi, had been living with her parents after her divorced, while her brother Allah Ditta was suspicious of her character.

On Tuesday night, Allah Ditta allegedly attacked his sister with an axe, killing her on the spot. The suspect managed to escape.

Shahbor police have registered a murder case against the suspect.

BURNT ALIVE: A young man was burnt alive while he was asleep in his house at 49/3R village on Tuesday night.

According to locals, Zafar Iqbal was asleep in a room where a fire suddenly erupted.

As a result, Zafar kept inhaling the smoke and fell unconscious and was burnt to death.

A motorcycle parked in the room was also gutted in the fire along with some other items.

Family sources say the fire might have been caused because of leakage of petrol from the motorcycle.
