KARACHI: Dr Reza Baqir, the governor of State Bank of Pakistan, has welcomed the introduction of an app that translates Urdu into Braille.

Addressing the launching ceremony of `Boltay Huroof’, Mr Baqir said the noble initiative would empower persons with disabilities and pave the way for banks to serve them better.

According to tweets shared via @StateBank_Pak, the central bank in June launched a policy framework on financial inclusion for persons with disabilities in which banks are advised to offer special products and services, provide forms and documents in Braille, facilitate through technological infrastructure and mandatory job quota for them.
