SUKKUR: Former federal minister and a staunch member of Pakistan Peoples Party, Syed Pervez Ali Shah, died of heart attack at his house in Khairpur last night.
A nephew of former chief minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the deceased left two wives, sons Syed Shahzeb Ali, Syed Shehzad Ali, Syed Jahanzeb Ali and Syed Bilal Ali, and two daughters to mourn his death.
Pervez Shah always stood by the party through thick and thin and hence was made a federal minister once by his party.
PPP MNA Javed Ali Shah is brother of the deceased.
Their father Ameer Ali Shah alias Dada Shah was also a prominent and renowned personality of PPP who had defeated Pakistan Muslim League-Functional leader Pir Pagara Ali Mardan Shah twice in election.
A large number of PPP leaders and activists, officers of civil administration and police attended funeral of Pervez Shah.
The party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Sindh chief minister and speaker of Sindh Assembly are likely to arrive in Khairpur today to offer fatiha for the departed soul.
