RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has launched an android application called ‘Voluntary Hazard/Incident Reporting System’ which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store

According to a statement issued by the authority, the application is part of the PCAA director general’s efforts to invite the general public, passengers and aviation stakeholders to become part of aviation’s safety culture. The application covers a wide range of reporting areas like hazard, incident, accident, damage, deficiency, violation and failure of service.

The aim of the application is to provide a user-friendly platform to people and aviation stakeholders so they can report issues directly to PCAA.

A spokesperson of the authority said people will now be able report issues related to safety of aircraft and passengers. Complainants can also upload files or pictures along with the complaint in support of his/her report as evidence. Disclosure of the complainant’s identity is optional, he added.

Aviation safety is everyone’s responsibility which is why PCAA gives due importance to safety-related issues and remains continuously engaged towards enhancing aviation performance and quality. The authority strives to meet customers’ satisfaction and adopt zero tolerance towards violation of procedures and standards pertaining to safe operation of aircraft.

He said voluntary hazard / incident reporting form is also available on the PCAA website:www.caapakistan.com.pk
