FAISALABAD, Nov 17: The operation against encroachments continued in eight main bazaars and adjoining commercial areas of the city on Thursday. The Land Branch teams, headed by Town Nazim Rana Zahid Mehmood, raided Jhang Bazaar, Katchery Bazaar, Bhawana Bazaar, besides some other commercial areas of the city and confiscated the goods displayed by shopkeepers by encroaching upon the government land.

The officials warned the traders to transact their business in their shops otherwise they would have to face legal action.

Meanwhile, the raiding teams also removed three illegal taxi stands from Kotwali Road, Circular Road and Katchery Bazaar, taking into custody 24 private vehicles.

The town administration imposed a ban on the use of public spots and open places as taxi-stands and ordered the vehicle owners to arrange proper places for the purpose.

The town nazim also directed the shopkeepers to remove their oversized billboards from their shops and install the boards with approved size of seven feet till the end of this month.
