QUETTA: Maulana Hidayatur Rehman, the leader of “Gwadar Ko Haq Do” movement which recently staged a sit-in for over 30 days in the coastal city, has warned the drug barons that they would no longer be allowed to continue their business.

Speaking at a rally in the small coastal town of Gadani in Lasbela district on Saturday, he said that those elements who were in the government would be exposed if they did not stop patronising the drug barons and those involved in other crimes.

The rally was staged against drug dealers and achievement of fundamental rights of residents of Gadani.

“Drug barons are destroying our young generation and humanity just for their financial gains,” the Maulana said.

“We will try to resolve the burning issues of Balochistan at every platform,” he said. “Drug dealers do not deserve any concession and mercy and it is the responsibility of the government to take action against them.”

He said that drug dealers were targeting the young generation and over one million people were addicted in Makran and other areas of Balochistan.

“When a young man starts using drugs, he is of no use and his family is destroyed,” he said and added that if the government and institutions were loyal to the people, then drugs could be eradicated from Balochistan.

The Maulana said that the government would have to implement the demands of ‘Gwadar Ko Haq Do’ movement.
