TAXILA: Police have arrested a woman for allegedly shooting her brother dead over a domestic dispute.

According to a police spokesman, 40-year-old Arshad Mehmood was shot dead on Dec 8 when he was coming back to his house in village Banagai. Police discovered that the deceased’s younger sister may have been involved in the murder and picked her up. During interrogation, she confessed that she murdered her brother over a domestic dispute.

The weapon that was used in the crime was also recovered.

Meanwhile, Wah Cantonment police arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a widow. A case was registered against the suspect and he was sent behind bars.

Furthermore, two robbers were arrested and three snatched motorcycles and money was recovered from their possession. A police party led by Station House Officer Masoor Ali raided the gang’s hideout and arrested both suspects.

Burglars broke into the house of Zeeshan Sarwar in Jameelabad and escaped with cash and gold ornaments worth Rs200,000. Similarly, cash and gold ornaments worth Rs300,000 were taken from Ameer Azam Khan’s house in Nawababad.
