MITHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed arrived here on Friday evening on a two-day visit to Tharparkar district.

During his stay, he is expected to address members of the Thar Bar Council and attend the inaugural ceremony of district and sessions court’s library.

The CJP is also expected to visit the Mithi Civil Hospital, a few RO plants installed on the outskirts of the town and some other places away from the town.

Stringent security measures have been taken across the town by police and other law enforcement agencies for the visit.

The CJP is learnt to be staying in the town’s guest house.

Senior officials of various provincial departments have already arrived Mithi to respond to the CJP’s possible questions about their performance and assigned jobs.

A number of operators and workers of RO plants demanding disbursement of their salaries and dues of many months have announced that they would hold demonstrations at the places to be visited by the CJP in order to draw his attention to their issues.
