LAHORE: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has directed those aspiring to contest the next polls from the PPP platform to submit their applications for the purpose.

Chairing meetings of the Sindh and Balochistan executive committees here on Friday, he said that the candidates seeking to get PPP tickets for the next general election must apply now so that after selection they could begin their election campaign well in time.

The party chairman, who was briefed about the political situation in the two provinces and preparations for the proposed Feb 27 long march on Islamabad, said that the division-level tractor marches and an effective protest outside the parliament on the mini-budget would serve as a trailer and an important lesson for the government.

He urged the people to come out on roads on Feb 27 to help send packing the “selected” prime minister home.

He said the movement against the incumbent government would continue until new elections were held in the country. He said that record inflation made the lives of the people miserable and now the PPP was not ready even to give a single more day to the PTI to remain in power.

Meanwhile, PPP-Parliamentarians Central Information Secretary Shazia Marri says the country needs a new setup and a new leader as Imran Khan has given nothing but insults and threats to the people.

Talking to the media at Bilawal House, she said that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari would be the party’s candidate for the slot of prime minister after the new elections.

Zulfikar Ali Badar, who has been appointed as the spokesperson for the party chairman, was also present.
