ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi and Islamabad districts on Saturday saw a decline in Covid-19 infections.

Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours 3,959 tests were conducted which found the virus among 74 people — 39 women and 35 men — with positivity rate standing at 1.86pc, they added.

The officials said 21 cases were reported in the age group of 20-29, followed by 18 in 30-39, 12 in 40-49, six in 0-9, five each in 10-19 and 50-59, four in 70-79, two in 70-79 and one in 80 and above, the officials said.

The y said nine cases were reported from Rawat, six each from Lohi Bher and F-11, four from Bhara Kahu, three each from F-10, F-6, I-8, E-11, G-10 and G-11, two each from D-12, Sihala and G-15 and one each from F-8, E-7, I-9, G-7, I-10, G-6, Kurri, Chak Shahzad, and Chirrah.

The tally of Covid-19 cases in capital reached 109,167, the officials said, adding that out of the total 107,631 were recovered and 967 died.

On Saturday the capital had 569 active cases, they said, adding that out of the total 36 were admitted in different hospitals while the rest were isolated at their homes.

Rawalpindi

The number of Covid-19 cases slightly reduced in the Rawalpindi district on as the virus was detected among 10 people while six were discharged from hospitals after recovering.

According to health authority data, the positivity ratio of Covid-19 cases in the district reduced from 1.56pc to 0.63pc as total 1,580 samples were sent for tests which found the virus among 10 people.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 145 active patients. As many as 22 patients are in the hospitals and 123 patients are home isolated.

Total four patients arrived from cantonment areas, two from Potohar Town and one patient from city areas while two patients arrived from Gujar Khan, one patient from Taxila.

There is one patient on ventilator in Rawalpindi, 11 patients are on Oxygen and 10 are stable.
