LARKANA: The Pakistan Peoples Party-backed panel of lawyers — Peoples Lawyers Forum — swept the Larkana District Bar Association held on Saturday.

The fourth Additional Session Judge Hafiz-ur-Rehman acted as the returning officer.

A total of 771 votes were cast.

According to the results, Safdar Ghouri bagged 397 votes to defeat his opponent, Mohammed Ismail Abro, who secured 342 votes, for the post of president.

Kamran Gorar had already returned uncontested for the slot of vice president. Ammanullah Luhar got 307 votes against his opponent Mazhar Ali Bhutto’s 228 votes for the slot of general secretary while Abdul Sattar Hulio got 239 votes against his rival, Ghulam Shabir Jatoi, who secured 233 votes, for the seat of joint secretary.

Imtiaz Jatoi was elected library secretary (393 votes) and Abdul Jabbar Shaikh won the slot of treasurer (366 votes).
