QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha has said that educated youth have ability to take over responsibilities of the country.

Speaking at the 17th convocation of the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences, he said that the future of Pakistan depended on the youth and fortunately over 60 percent of the country’s population comprises young people.

The governor awarded degrees to 800 graduates at the convocation, while 75 students received gold medals.

The governor said all graduates deserved congratulations.

Mr Agha asked the graduates to utilise their research for working out solutions to problems being faced by society.

He said the main responsibility of educational institutions was to nurture the hidden talents of the youths and urged the graduates to serve the nation by putting their education into practice. They should also play a role in eradicating poverty, he added.

The governor praised the efforts and performance of the university and said Vice Chancellor Farooq Bazai had devoted a big part of his life to making it one of the top universities in the country.

Vice Chancellor Farooq Bazai, senior professors, government officials and parents of the students attended the convocation.

Earlier, Mr Bazai highlighted the achievements and future plans of the university.
