LOWER DIR: The teshil municipal administration on Monday launched an operation against the illegally-installed billboards in different parts of the Timergara city.

Assistant commissioner Tahir Ali Khattak supervised the operation.

Tehsil municipal officer Shakeel Hayat told mediapersons that all the illegally-installed billboards would be removed from the Timergara subdivision. He said any person wanting to install billboards should obtain NOC from the TMA.

Meanwhile, Pesco executive engineer Maqsood Ahmed told journalists that the recent power loadshedding in the area was due to the installation of heavy transformers at the Saddu grid station. He said the loadshedding would end in the next two days. He said Pesco was trying its best to ensure smooth power supply to consumers.

Mr Ahmed said the consumers should pay their arrears immediately, or face strict action.

Meanwhile, the hilly areas of Lower Dir received snowfall and rain lashed the plains on Monday, further dipping the temperature. According to agriculture experts, the snowfall and rains would improve underground water table and would have positive effect on wheat crop.
