MARDAN: Unidentified robbers snatched Rs3.4 million from a trader at gunpoint in Par Hoti area here on Wednesday, the police said.

Par Hoti police station officials quoted the complainant, Mohammad Irfan of Par Hoti area, as saying that two unknown robbers snatched Rs3.4 million from him at gunpoint when stepped out of his house to go to his shop.

He told the police that the robbers fled on a motorcycle after snatching the amount from him.

The police registered FIR against unidentified robbers on the complaint of the steel and cement trader and began efforts to trace the culprits.

Meanwhile, the traders expressed concern over the rising incidents of robberies in the district over the past few months. They threatened to come onto the roads if the police failed to arrest the culprits.
